A 43-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his elderly mother and father to death inside their home in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal

 KZN COMMUNITY IN SHOCK AFTER MAN ALLEGEDLY KILLS ELDERLY PARENTS 

A 43-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his elderly mother and father to death inside their home in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal.

According to reports, the horrifying incident happened on Tuesday afternoon in the Thafamasi area. Community members were left terrified after the suspect allegedly stood at the doorway armed with a knife, preventing neighbours from helping the elderly couple.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call from a local councillor.

When officers entered the rondavel, they reportedly found the bodies of 74-year-old Phumzile Rachel Ngcobo and 79-year-old Mziwamandla Ngcobo lying in pools of blood with multiple stab wounds and severe injuries.

A knife and pieces of wood believed to have been used during the brutal attack were recovered at the scene.

The suspect was also treated for self-inflicted stab wounds after allegedly attempting to take his own life.

The motive behind the killings remains unknown, and police investigations are continuing.

The tragedy has left the Ndwedwe community heartbroken, as the elderly couple was well-known and respected in the area.
