According to a report by Rapport, the 25-year-old footballer was allegedly involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend, Aqueelah Adendorf, on the night before he passed away.

The publication reported that Adams, Adendorf, his brother Ronaldo, and several friends had spent Friday evening at a nightclub in Athlone. It is alleged that tension arose after Adendorf reportedly received a text message indicating that Adams had paid the bill for everyone at the venue. The disagreement is said to have continued after the group returned to a flat Adams had booked in Bo-Kaap.

The report further claims that, during the early hours of Saturday morning, Adams contacted his father and allegedly told him that he "couldn't take it anymore." Concerned by the call, his father reportedly rushed from Stellenbosch to Cape Town in an attempt to reach his son.
