INCREDIBLE! Puso Dithejane Scores Just 36 Seconds After Coming On Against Colorado Rapids

South African football fans have another reason to celebrate after talented winger Puso Dithejane produced a memorable moment for Chicago Fire FC in Major League Soccer (MLS).

The 22-year-old made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, scoring just 36 seconds after being introduced during Chicago Fire's impressive 4-2 victory over Colorado Rapids on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

Dithejane's contribution was particularly special because he barely had time to settle into the match before finding the back of the net. His introduction came in the 87th minute, and by the 88th minute, he had already put his name on the scoresheet.

It was the perfect way to make an impression.

Puso Dithejane Makes Every Second Count

Chicago Fire were already enjoying an entertaining match against Colorado Rapids, with both teams showing attacking intent.

Colorado Rapids opened the scoring through Morgan Whittaker in the 22nd minute. Chicago responded through Jonathan Bamba, who scored shortly before half-time to make it 1-1.

Bamba continued his impressive performance in the second half, scoring again in the 56th minute to give Chicago the advantage.

However, Colorado responded almost immediately, with Paxten Aaronson finding the net in the 58th minute to make it 2-2.

The match remained competitive until Robert Lewandowski stepped up in the 74th minute, scoring to put Chicago Fire ahead 3-2.

With the visitors looking to protect their advantage, Chicago made further substitutions, including the introduction of South African youngster Puso Dithejane.

And what happened next was something special.

Lewandowski Provides the Assist

Dithejane entered the match in the 87th minute, replacing Philip Zinckernagel.

Just 36 seconds later, he was celebrating his third MLS goal of the season.

The move started with Andrew Gutman, who carried the ball forward before delivering it towards Lewandowski. The Polish striker then showed his quality by picking out Dithejane with a well-timed pass inside the Colorado Rapids penalty area.

Dithejane did the rest, calmly slotting the ball into the net to make it 4-2.

It was a wonderful moment for the South African footballer, who demonstrated that even a short appearance can make a big difference.

Scoring within seconds of entering the pitch is not something that happens every day, and Dithejane certainly made his limited playing time count.

Chicago Fire Secure an Important Victory

The match eventually ended 4-2 in favour of Chicago Fire.

Jonathan Bamba scored twice, while Robert Lewandowski and Puso Dithejane also found the back of the net.

The victory kept Chicago fourth in the Eastern Conference with 55 points and one regular-season match remaining.

For Dithejane, however, the individual achievement will certainly be one of the biggest talking points among South African supporters.

His goal was his third of the 2026 MLS regular season, and it came against the backdrop of playing alongside internationally recognised football stars.

South Africans Celebrate Puso Dithejane

Dithejane's latest contribution is another exciting moment for South African football.

Seeing a young South African player making an impression in an international league is encouraging, particularly when he is sharing the pitch with players of Lewandowski's calibre.

The fact that Lewandowski provided the assist makes the moment even more memorable.

Dithejane did not need 10 or 20 minutes to announce himself. He needed just 36 seconds to remind everyone of his attacking qualities.

His performance will undoubtedly give him confidence as he continues working towards establishing himself at Chicago Fire.

South African supporters will be hoping to see more opportunities and goals from the talented youngster.

Thirty-six seconds. One opportunity. One goal!

Puso Dithejane certainly made every second count. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦
